You know you have failed at blogging when you try to organize each event in months and can't do it. I have 2 WEEKS until the next Miss Kentucky's Outstanding Teen is crowned and should have some GREAT stories to blog about when I finish the 9 remaining elementary schools in Laurel County next week!
I traveled to Las Vegas to cheer on Mallory as she ROCKED the stage at Miss America!! She and I were the smallest contestants at the national pageant so I was very proud of her when she stuffed herself in that suit case:) A whopping 48 Teen contestants came to Miss America to cheer on their big sisters and because they kept us very busy that week as well. We got to make a commercial for disposable razors that has been in the making for 10 years!!, got a tour of Las Vegas from Nevada's Teen, and signed autographs! I also got to attend a "Beauty Queen Boot Camp" in Lexington hosted by Josh and Sarah. We had a GREAT workout and learn not only pageant interview skills but life skills as well! I then emceed the Miss Redbud Trails Pageant with the beautiful Meghan Chesnut, where I also gave up my title. I then traveled to Bowling Green to the Old Stone Country Club to speak at a ladies pre-derby party with the beautiful Miss Bowling Green, Andrea Walker! There I was able to have some GREAT food, GREAT chats, and meet some GREAT people including Kimber Albarado (Jockey Robby Albarado's wife), and Sandy and Lindsey Perry (golfer Kenny Perry's wife and daughter). I went to my old elementary school East Bernstadt Independent, where somehow all of the middle school students got my cell phone number!!!! (It's been 2 months and I'm still getting midnight calls! HA HA). A little girl also noticed I had lipstick in my teeth, so I took Mallory's advice. Instead of rambling off some pageant answer about why I had lipstick in my teeth in the first place, as I talked my self out of a speeding ticket just 3 minutes before while putting on lipstick. I simply bent down and "ask one?" She had the same reaction as Mallory's student, as she took her dirty little finger against my gum and smiled. We then had a pageant where 3 boys competed and performed the "John Wall Dance" for their talent. The competition was fierce. The Pay It Forward Foundation-London Chapter has been VERY busy the past few months. We donated new baby cribs for the London Pregnancy Center and $300 for the Laurel County Special Prom that was greatly appreciated! Lastly, PIF donated $100 to each of the Teen contestants at their orientation for their production fee for MKOT...the mom's LOVED it!!! Soon after, it was off to Grayson to emcee and perform at the Miss Heart of KY Pageant.
Most recently...I attended the Miss KY gala, orientation, and workshop. I was so pleased when the famous Don Baker was able to come and share his knowledge on nailing your interview! "Open and Outward" HA HA. It was great to spend time with the Miss and Teen contestants and dance the night away!
On a personal note I'm soo excited to say that Meghan Kasama(former MKOT contestant, MKCF, MKF) and I are rooming together at UK!!! We are very excited..however, not about having to experience dorm life hiking up 14 flights of stairs of the Blanding Tower with all of our clothes...possibly evening gowns/swim suits every now and then. Please pray for us! ;)
Well...until next time!

December- Not a lot of appearances going on this month between Christmas break, finals, and studying for ACT.. :( ha ha but have still been very busy and can't wait for all the upcoming schools lined up for the month of January! I will have to admit...the weekend of the Bowling Green Pageant was one of the most fun weekends so far as my year of reign. I don't think anyone couldn't have a good time being around George all weekend ;) I got to ride in the Bowling Green Christmas Parade in 20 degree weather with my wonderful mom. We also rode the car back with the roof down...Oh Lord, LOL! I also spent a wonderful dinner with the Judges, Bowling Green board of directors, and reigning queens. I was so proud of the newly crowned teen and miss title holders! The Thornton Family was oh so sweet by letting my Mom, Dad, and I stay at their house for weekend. We are all just like family! It was so humbling being in Ann-Blair's footsteps...I even got to steel her bed as she had to experience another weekend of dorm life..Poor A.B. LOL! Kaitlynne and Lynne were so much fun and Kaitlynne was helpful in our deep conversations that we only we understand ;) Steve and Dad are wwwwaaayyy to excited about Vegas. Considering every 10 minutes we heard "Sooo...What about Vegas??!!" ha ha. I also got to hear the HILARIOUS story about the oh so funny Lee Cruise wearing Princess Diana's tiara at Heather French Henry's wedding!!! Only he would do something of that nature :) Mallory and her mom were too sweet and think that her brother and I should have "a lot of cute, fat babies together...when married" quote Mallory ;) LOL! Mal sang BEAUTIFULLY at the pageant and literally brought tears to not only me, but the audience eyes. I just can't help but to be so proud and excited for her as she is getting ready for Miss America! I even introduced her to the stage as Miss America 2010! Being at the pageant was a HUGE awakening for me, making me realize that my reign is shortly coming to end. Time has flown by, and it only makes me want to do even more with the title of Miss KY's Outstanding Teen.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
