Hello everyone! I promise I will get better about blogging :)...
October- I got the opportunity to attend an event to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. The involvement we received from the community was so rewarding. It was so humbling to work with a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization who do so much for others on a national and international level. Later, I got to attend the local directors workshop in Lexington to talk about all the wonderful and fulfilling things I have been able to do with the title of Miss Kentucky's Outstanding Teen. I got to tell them the "big news" about receiving the ambassadorship of the Girl's Know How book series, and how I can now take these books to every class room in the state of Kentucky! I also wanted to let all the local programs know how much they truly are appreciated with their involvement of the Miss Kentucky Organization. Not to mention talk about all the funny questions I have been ask so fare! We won't go into any detail ;) ha ha. Then is was off to my last school appearance for the month of October, London Elementary School! Looking through the children's eyes of disbelief with the outside beauty of the crown, they ask " excuse me, but are you a queen or a princess?" and " wow...are ALL of the diamonds on your crown REAL??" of course I tell them "YES!" :) It was so funny when a little girl that plays basketball ask, "Do you have a sister?"..."What grade is she in?"...."What School does she go to?"..."Does she play basketball"..."What number is she?".."Is her name Abby?" After replying to all the questions with "Yes..???" She finally said " Um mm..yeah, she pushed me when we played each other and I really think you should beat her up when you get home!" ha ha Shewww... was Abby mad or what when I told her! ha ha Lastly, I helped with the a Cancer Survivor's Banquet and Auction. It was so inspiring talking to all of the survivors and listening to their stories.
November- I got to attend a 5K run for a charity event promoting Huntington's disease. I was shocked when the first guy finished in 15 minutes! WOW! Sadly, I had get my wisdom teeth removed later that week :( I looked like a chipmunk....but by the third day I remember I got my "New Moon" tickets weeks before and was NOT going to miss it! Even though people stared at me, and my wonderful friends made fun of me yelling as I went to the concession stand, "Hey Madison! Get me some nuts too while your at it!" It didn't matter. All that mattered is that I got to see my future husband Robert Pattinson/Taylor Lautner ..which ever one ask first ;) I then went to the London Dialysis Center to deliver blankets to the patients with the help of Pay It Forward, church members, and the Laurel Co. Republican Women's Forum. I was so excited about Thanksgiving! It always make me realize how fortunate I truly am. However, this past Thanksgiving I was especially thankful for my family, friends, and holding the title of Miss Kentucky's Outstanding Teen 2009. I am so honored to be able to travel across the commonwealth to various schools, and being able to come in contact with as many of our youth as I have. I then went to the Miss KY Teen and Miss KY USA pageant. I was ecstatic when my friend Taylor won the Teen title. I am so excited to have another state title holder not only in my home town, but even the same high school! I have a feeling we will be having a lot of fun this year! I was also so proud of all the former MKOT and Miss KY contestants for doing such a wonderful job as well.
Well it's off to Bowling Green this weekend for the Bowling Green/Mammoth Cave Area Pageant! We are going to be a hoot! :)
